Baltimore Public Improvement Commission, died suddenly this morning at
this home here. He was at his desk in the city Hall yesterday, but
complained of illness. Death was caused by heart disease.
Mr. Brandt was born in Baltimore forty-five years ago. During the
World War, he was in the employ of the United States Shipping Board,
spending three years on the west coast as auditor, with headquarters
in Los Angeles, later being transferred to Balitmore.
Before the war he was associated with the Pennsylvania Railroad and
several local companies as salesman, bookkeeper and auditor, respectively.
He was an officer in the old Fifth Regiment , Maryland National
Guard, and a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and Moose.
Mr. Brandt is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret O. Brandt, and
four brothers, Edwin H. Brandt, a member of Mayor Jackson's
secretarial staff; Albert C. Brandt, a member of the Fire Department;
Charles B. Brandt, in the Beureau of Highways, and J. Milton Brandt
assistant secretary of the Title Guarantee and Trust Company. His
mother, Mrs. Elizabeth C. Brandt, also survives. Frnaks obituary appeared in the New York Times indicating he must have been known there as well.
