September 1888

Sept 1st Lena and I white washed the kitchen stairs today I went to Church Hill late this afternoon it rained some before we got back

2nd I went to church this morning there was not many out but we had a nice prayer and class meeting

4th We washed today but did not get all dry for it has rained I sent a letter to Pap And Nora

5th I went to the night society last night there was not many there

6th Penn went to Mr. Stories sale this afternoon He took me to Lizzie's I stayed until he came back from the sale He bought a horse It has been cool all afternoon We have fire tonight

8th This has been another rainy day I am not very well and had one of my strange feelings

9th I was poorly and did not go to church It is still cloudy and raining part of the time

12th I have been cutting peaches today and have canned 20 1/2 gallon cans of Heath and Newington this has been a nice day

13th I went up to Beckies this morning to take her some peaches and pears I did not stay long I have been drying peaches this afternoon

14th I went to Chestertown this morning to take my butter when I got back I pared peaches to dry

15th We white washed the hall and sitting room today I went to Church Hill with Penn this afternoon

16th I went to church this morning Had a very few there

17th It rained today we did not get our washing done

18th We washed today but it was not very clear did not get all dry

19th We had company tonight Penn invited his Sunday school class here to supper they stayed until 12 o'clock There was 14 of his class and 2 strangers 2 of his class was absent

20th This has been a nice day I am still preserving

21st I took my butter to Chestertown in this morning I am done making Jelly for this year I am not sorry

23rd We went to church heard Mr. Asters preach May N. M Willow and her brother [Park?] here in the afternoon Did not stay long two of Kindele girls and Miss N. and was here to supper They came to see Lena after supper Miss Molly and I went over to Mrs. Welshes to see a lady friend of hers but she was not out

26th I am sick had my strange feeling early this morning and had them all day

27th This is Penn birthday Lizzie came this morning and spent the day I am not well yet but I'm getting better Have just written to Dr. Klein tonight

28th I went to Chestertown this morning to take my butter and went down to Rolphs Wharf to meet Pen He went to Baltimore this morning it seemed strange without him

29th Miss Molly Pen and I went to Church Hill this afternoon we took supper at Mr. Hurlocks

30th We went to church this morning had no preaching it has been very cool all day it hailed this afternoon
