November 1887

2nd I was at church tonight there was a good many out but no one went to the altar Mr. Arters concluded that it was best to bring it to a close as he needed some? before he began one of his other appointments I was sorry there were no more coming But thank the Lord we have 3 more church members God grant that they may hold out faithful

Nov 3rd I went to Becky's today took Jimmy it has been a beautiful all day and I had a nice time

4th I went to Chestertown today took Linnie and it was such a nice day did not intend to stay long but met with an accident and stayed most all day May Annie Linnie and myself all rode out to the paper mill as we started home the carriage turned over threw us all out we were not seriously hurt but very much frightened May was Driving and was a little careless she got a swelled nose and a sprained arm Linnie a hurt on the head And hand me a bruised leg and a broken carriage I had to stay in town longer than I expected getting it fixed I think the mill is a curiosity but I would rather never have seen it then things to turn out that way Lenny thought it was So nice I was sorry he got hurt

Nov 5th I did not go to church Hill today for I was not done my work and was Not very well  

6th I went to church today We had a good congregation and Mr. Arters done well It has been a very Pretty day Miss holler went to See Mrs. Hets woman Pen and I went to see Miss Loller a little while this afternoon did not stay long

Monday Nov 7th  This has been a pretty day but it is getting cloudy now We got our washing done I am glad of it Eddie went over to Chester town this afternoon to work in the paper mill I did not like to see him go but he thought he would like to make some money for himself this winter now that the work is most done here on the farm I will miss him but I hope he will be a good boy 

8th Well one day has passed since Eddie left and miss him very much This is Election Day Miss Holly and I went to Church Hill with Pen this afternoon the ladies of the M E Church held a festival to raise money to pay for getting the parsonage repaired they had a great many things given them and I suspect they will do well I only stayed a short time as Pen wanted to come home

November 9th  This has been a very nice day but much colder than it was yesterday We killed hogs today and I am tired I had Lidia Brown and Walter to help me We got along right well Lydia has just finished straining the gut fat and gone to bed She goes right ahead without being told Eliza has worked real well today Walter's mother was there a while she helped while she stayed I must go to bed as I am very sleepy

10th This is been a very busy day and we are not done yet it has Rained most all day I am very tired tonight 

11th We have got our hog work done finished about midnight it is cooler than it was yesterday Jimmy took the women home after supper 

Nov 12th I went to Chestertown today took Miss Molly and Annie We saw Eddie had a little talk with him I wish he was home for I miss him as much Took Miss Molly too Mr. Registers she is to stay all night and spend Sunday it has been real cool today

November 13th I went to church this morning had prayer meeting there was not many there Pen and I went over to Chestertown this afternoon took a coat to Eddie He went out siding? while we were there I told him he was glad to see the horse and carriage I expect him Home next Sunday

14th This has been a pretty day part of the time but clouded up near night has rained since supper We washed and got most of the clothes dry I wrote to Beckie today

16th Received a letter from Becky Annie has a gathered finger

17th I took some sausage to Mrs. Wright Today at took some butter to my customers I called on Lizzie But had only a short time to stay I don't feel very well tonight I wanted to go out to the mill to see Eddie was afraid I would be late getting home so I didn't go I expect to go over after him Saturday 

18th  I am not feeling very well tonight I have been sewing all day making Annie a dress Budd N. came over this evening to stay until tomorrow

19th Miss Molly went to Church Hill today I went over to Chestertown after Eddie I went to see the Doctor but he was not in I came home without seeing him I wanted some medicine for I was not feeling real well Eddie came home with me It was bedtime when we got home

Nov 20th We went to church Mr. Arters was away Mr. Chalinger was there in his place Eddie had to go back to Chestertown for this is his week for working at night he has to begin at 12 o'clock tonight I always hate to see him leave

21st My new woman came today just hired her until Christmas I don't know how I will like her 

22nd I got up sick yesterday morning and I am still sick had to get Hattie to come and help wash for I thought the woman I had just got would not know how I done, the two got along very well

23rd I am still sick Pen went to see the doctor for me on Monday and again today I have a boil and it is very painful Hattie whitewashed the sitting room panels

24th Afternoon Mrs. R. Caitlin called on me This is the day I was to go to Chestertown for as Lizzie and me where to go to Beckie's but I am still in bed but expect to get up after awhile My boil has broke and I feel better Jimmy went over to Aunt Lizzie's after her to take her to Beckie's I expect they are having a good time talking I wanted to go real bad

24th At night Jimmy brought Lizzie by a while before supper I was glad to see her I am up and feel a little better

25th Lizzie is still here she intended to go home this evening but we talk to her so much she concluded to stay until morning

26th I am so much better that I went to Church Hill this afternoon but I am not real well yet Lizzy went home early this morning The ladies of the Presbyterian Church are having a festival in the hall I was there a little while this afternoon the children have gone tonight Lena Jimmy and Annie, It has been very warm today it seems like spring Miss Mollie went home this afternoon

Sunday Night 27th This has been another warm day We all went to church but Annie, Eddie was not home today I have not seen him for a week I feel like I would love to see him Miss Annie H. brought Miss Molly home this afternoon

28th This has been a rainy day but we washed did not get the clothes out Pen went to Rolphs Wharf Willis Rolph came home with him he took him up home this afternoon He expected to return to Baltimore next Wednesday

29th I went to Chestertown this morning after Annie Lambert but she was not home I brought May home with me Penn and I took her up to Beckie's this afternoon
