January 1887

14th  Well I have concluded to keep a diary this year but I don't know how long I will keep it up I have so many other things to attend to  We have taken the [bridge] for this year and I am to send butter to Halls Hotel, they are to give me 25 cts per lb all year.  Eddie has gone to New Castle been away more than a week I miss him and often think of him  I have just finished a suit of clothes for Clement

15th  I am taking medicine from Dr. Cooper of Chestertown and have been under his treatment for more than two  months  I am feeling better at this time

23th had quite a warm day  went to church  May N, was here and went with us , the roads are very muddy and there were few those

24th It rained most of the day snowed awhile before night and cleared up colder  it is just 20 years tonight since we were married and there has been many changes in that time,

25th It has been clear and pleasant, Lizzie(the cook) got her clothes dry today May and I have been sewing

26th  Eddie came home today, he said he had a nice time but I was glad to have him back home again

27th Pen took May and I down to Mr J Tucker's  spent a pleasant evening

28th took may home staid with [Sister] Lizzie until after dinner  I took butter and eggs to Wright's at the Voshal House instead of Mr Hall's

29th Lena has gone to Church Hill she is a going to stay all night at Mr.ONeil's  there is to be a festival to raise money for the missionary cause

30th  raining today I didn't go to church have a cold and am not very well Mr. O'Neil is sick  could not come to preach  Lena did not get home

31st Miss Ella brought Lena home said they did well with the festival although they had a rainy day and dark night Lena said she spent a very pleasant time
