February 1887

2nd churned today  only made 7 lb have been making more

3rd received a letter from Agnes Quigley it has been sometime since I have heard from her

4th went to Chestertown today took 8 lb butter went to see Dr. Cooper and took Lena  was at Lizzie's a short time but got home in time for dinner  went to see Mrs Steward in the afternoon  Mrs Walls and daughter and Mrs M Walls was there  had a nice time

5th I went to ChuchHill this afternoon  it has been a cloudy and part of the time a stormy day  I called on Miss [Molbe] Thurs back, she seemed well and cheerful  I did not stay long for the road are bad and we had to drive slow

9th I have been down to Rolfs Wharf today took supper with Mrs. Taylor Miss E. Colton and Miss Maggie Evans were there  we spent a very pleasant afternoon

10th I went to Beckie's today  took Annie and Jimmie had a nice time  Beckie cam home with me  we expect to go to Lizzie's tomorrow we have done some
talking tonight but it is bedtime and we will have to go to bed

11th we went to Lizzie's today  took her by surprise  she was not expecting me for it is my day to take butter I took 5 lb to Mrs Wright  Lizzie went home with Beckie, she expects to come here sunday.

12th I didn't go to the Hill today Tommie was here

14th I took Lizzie home today  went to see Dr. Cooper  he gave me medicine for lena and some for myself

17th very pretty day most like spring but very muddy

18th I went to town today sold my butter eggs and potatoes and went to see Dr. Cooper  it rained fast before I got home  we had a thunder gust right sharp lightning  it is still warm

19th  cleared off last night was pleasant all day

20th went to Church had no preaching as Mr. O'Neil is still sick  had a nice class meeting

21st  took Lena to Dr. for him to see her lip

25th I went to town today Lena and I went to Dr.'s  I fell better but am still taking medicine, Lena is better but her lip is not well yet. Becky was at Lizzie's I brought her home with me, Pen took her to Mr Crossleys [store]  I went in to see Mrs. C  spent a very pleasant time  came home to tea

26th Sat  this has been a stormy day  it snowed this morning and turned to a rain,  the wind is blowing hard tonight  it is colder an still raining  there is an old saying that the sun always shines some time during saturday  but we have not seen it today

27th Sunday went to church Mr Kemp from Chestertown preached and administered the Holy Communion

28th the cook did not come home last night, I have been fixing a bed for the boy we expect tomorrow
